Taif is located on the slopes of the Al Sarawat Mountains, 1,800m above sea level. The population stands at over 350,000.
Its high position and cooler climate has made Taif a popular resort and summer holiday location for the people throughout the Kingdom, and in particular the people of Jeddah, Riyadh and the holy city of Makkah. Enjoying the green scenery and wonderful parks of Taif, the most famous being the King Fadh Park, which stretches for over 175 square km.
The government moves from Riyadh toTaif during the summer months, to escape the heat.
Taif is a center for famous for its agricultural farming and famous for its honey and grapes.
